Graduates of the joint MTS and ITMO program became residents of the MTS 5G Center

MTS has selected the best projects following a joint educational program with ITMO for developers of fifth-generation networks solutions. Robosharing, a company which creates robots for logistics, production and harvesting processes automatization, and the FASTEP, an AR platform for step-by-step complex equipment instructions demonstration, will become residents of the 5G MTS StartUp Hub Center and will receive one million rubles from MTS.

Startups will have access to the working 5G network zone at the VDNH with the equipment and resources, and will also receive expert support from MTS specialists.

MTS and ITMO launched an online educational program for next-generation networks solutions developers in March. Six startups made it to the finals of ITMO’s Acceleration, two of which have become residents of the 5G Center.

“Now the market is in demand for IT solutions in industrial automation and immersive AR services, which increase the efficiency of equipment maintenance and staff training, as well as minimize mistakes in production. The two selected projects proved the validity of their hypotheses and became residents of the second batch of the 5G MTS StartUp Hub. Incubation in the Center will help startups to refine their solutions for new generation networks,” said Dmitry Kurin, Director of the MTS StartUp Hub Center for Innovation and Investment.

“We believe that the accelerator program was a success! We have collected over 100 applications for the general track and 50 for the MTS track, which shows that startups are interested in acceleration. Even the hasty transfer of the events from offline to online did not interfere with the work of the Accelerator. For the first time, we did a joint track with someone, especially with such a large corporation as MTS — for us, it was a serious challenge. We assess this experience as positive and believe that there are prospects for our projects and their further development,” said Alexey Solomatin, Director of ITMO Accelerator.
