MTS and Medsi launch a joint acceleration program

MTS has launched the first track within the corporate accelerator of the MTS Startup Hub for a company that is not a part of the MTS group. The Medsi Group will be the business customer.

MTS StartUp Hub specialists will search for the most promising companies with services and technologies related to the field of tele and personalized medicine. Medsi is also interested in startup solutions that can improve the customer experience in the clinics. Selected startups will join the sixth batch acceleration program for the Innovation and Investment Center of the MTS StartUp Hub. Application deadline is October 3, 2020. We designed the program for two months, during which the teams, with the help of MTS mentors and experts, adapt their solutions to the needs of the business customer. After successful acceleration, its participants will launch a pilot with Medsi.

“The launch of the joint acceleration program is a logical continuation of the long-term cooperation between MTS and Medsi. Our specialists will help Medsi seek manufacturers of smart wearable devices for health monitoring, solutions that allow creating models for forecasting the demand for medical services, and many others. For two years of MTS StartUp Hub operation, 72 startups have launched pilots with MTS, 19 of which went into scaling. This experience will allow us to prepare young technology companies to launch pilot projects with the largest network of private medical clinics in Russia,” said Dmitry Kurin, Director of the MTS StartUp Hub Center for Innovation and Investment.

“The healthcare industry has already been in a digital transformation for the past few years. The pandemic and related restrictions have pushed the demand for change to a maximum level. All over the world, and Russia is no exception, we see new startup companies that are changing the traditional models of providing and consuming medical services. The range of solutions is very wide: from telemedicine and chronic patient management to contactless patient identification systems and AI-based decision support systems. As the leader in private healthcare in Russia, Medsi is developing innovations and looking for interesting projects for development. The launch of the accelerator with MTS, thanks to the experience of our colleagues, will allow a structured approach to this process and, with a high probability, will allow us to achieve results such as working breakthrough projects,” said Alexander Pilipchuk, Director of Digital Transformation of Medsi Group.

Besides startups for Medsi, MTS StartUp Hub will look for new solutions in financial and banking technologies, innovations in insurance, the IoT and digital health monitoring technologies for the MTS eHealth business area.
